Fl4k3s – You tell me what it means =]

How well did your group work?

My group worked well because most of the time we were on task and we all ended up finishing, but we all agreed to finish it the day before, but one of the group members didn’t and we had to do it during the lesson, this brought problems because the project could not have been finished and we could have lost marks for time management.

Would you work with the same group of students again? Why?

No, because as I have stated before ‘One of the group members didn’t not work to a capacity, which means that we could lose marks for his actions’.

How much effort did you put into this project?  What could you have done better?

I put quiet a lot of effort into this project because I wanted to give the group good marks, and because I wanted to get good marks.

Do you think your final wikispace was your best work? Why?

No, because if I had a little more times, I could have done a few modifications.

What did you think of the project when you received it? Why?

I thought that the project was hard because when the project said 12 artworks, I thought we had to make them all, but it ended up being easy because we have to get a painting and make a caption for it.

What do you think of the project now you have completed it? Why?

I think that the project wasn’t enjoyable because there was no real fun task, but at the end when we did the interactive activity, that was fun. But other than that I didn’t find anything enjoyable.

What did you like in the project? Why?

I liked the individual task 3 because we got to learn more about Photoshop.

What did you not like in the project? Why?

The project, because getting artworks and typing a caption for it isn’t that fun, this is the main reason I didn’t like it.

How can the teachers make your next project better?

To include new programs and make sure that we can have fun for example including Photoshop, MovieMaker and other programs that we have to use to make sure the project can be enjoyable.

Journal 5.

1. Yes my image of Jesus has changed throughout the project because in comparisen to others, mine didn’t look too good so i chose a nicer 1. Hopefully this choice was for the better because people judge art works, in both bad and good ways.

2. I think that the best portray of Jesus is when he is with children or sheep because he seems to be so happy, even though he knows what his destiny is. Jesus is a person who should be seen as a sheperd because he is a good leader, for example the paintings of him being crucified are not good because it brings sadness and hatred to the world. People should be seeing Jesus for what he did when he was alive, and not the way he died.

3. So far i havent enjoyed anything about the project because we still havent started much and because there are too many things to do to think about like journals and individual tasks. So far it has been stressful and not enjoyable.

JOURNAL ENTRY 1

THE HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE

Research and gather information from the internet about the Hubble Space Telescope. Use the following questions as the basis for your journal entry:

-          What was Hubble’s involvement in space research? The galaxies, stars. That if a galaxy or star is far away that means that it is travelling really fast. The further away the faster

-          What does the telescope do? They are satellite which sends pictures back to Earth about galaxies and their distance away from us.

-          Where can the telescope be found? At Nigeria or Niger.

-          What is Hubble’s law? The furer away the star or galaxy the faster it is travelling.

 JOURNAL ENTRY 2

THE BIG BANG:

What contribution did the following scientists make towards the big bang theory?

-         Walter Adams -He worked on solar spectroscopes and partially discovered a relationship between the relative intensities of certain spectral lines and the absolute magnitude of a star. He was able to demonstrate that spectra, as a white dwarf.

-         Ralph Alpher. The Big Bang is a term coined initially in derision, to describe the cosmological model of the universe as expanding into its current state from a primordial condition of enormous density and temperature. Nucleosynthesis is the explanation of how more complex elements are created out of simple elements in the moments following the Big Bang.

-         Robert Dicke. A highlight experiment was the classic test of the equivalence principle by Dicke, a factor of 100 more accurate than previous work. He also made measurements of solar oblateness which were useful in understanding the perihelion precession of Mercury’s orbit.

1. Today NASA has sent out a satellite called Pheonix, to the planet mars because there have been recent discoveries that may support the fact that Mars may be able to support life.

2. Pheonix is sent there to find traces of water, or traces of different life forms. Pheonix will be there to observe weather patterns and other things that will help support life.

3. Yes we should be researching other plantes because we are not certain that we may find anything good on mars, but after all it is closest to Earth. I would say another planet that we should reserach more on is Jupiter because it is a large planet, and maybe in a few years time we will be able to construct a fake atmosphere.

1. While doing some research i was looking at the coalation of the stars and the way they are set out when all of a sudden i saw this green, purple thing that looked almost like a blackhole. I drove to the lab to see it with the Bigger Telescope. Then I noticed that particles were being sucked into it. So i continued to research this and found that more and more particles were collected in this thing and then a few years later i noticed that a planet sort of thing started to form. Ever since then i was interested in the thing now called ‘Pulsars’.

List TWO problems that could occur from students selecting their own groups.

2 Problems that could have occurred when people were choosing groups are:

- A person might have been left out or that someone was chosen twice.

- A person might be chosen to be in a group of people he doesn’t want to work with, or people he has worked with before.

Which type of student do you think would be selected first?

The bets student to pick first would have to be a student that will be a good enough leader to strive his group in the right direction. A person that will understand the needs of his team members, and also the smartest people in the class will be selected first.
Why do you think they were selected first?

Because they will have the potential to pull their weight and maybe a little extra. Also that might have to show the group what to do, how to do it and by when to do it.
Which types of student do you was selected last?
People that are known to be distracted easily, these include people that can’t be trusted with important assignments or people that are known not to do homework.

What beneficial characteristics can you offer to your group?
I offer my group good leadership, an understanding of the task and also an opinion on how to do things that may or may not help the group.

List THREE things you personally would like to improve on during this project.

My Photoshop skills, relationships and my grades at this point in time.

Journal entry 2.

How many rubrics are there for this project?

There are currently 3 rubrics ranging from group rubrics to individual rubrics.

Describe the purpose of the rubric?

The purpose of rubrics is to show what groups need to have done before the final task is due, this means that they have a chance to see what they need to complete in the future. This would help more if it were simpler. The rubrics are also used as a guide for groups for example; a group may print out the rubric to use as a guide to see what they need in their project folder.

How can you use the rubric to get the best possible mark?

By using the rubric to see what you need to have in the folder before the due date, these may include: journal entries, agenda and many more things that might show a little bit of skill work or time and effort.

Journal entry 3.

What words and or images come to mind when you hear the word Jesus.

Some images that come to my mind when the word ‘Jesus’ is used are: The cross, Passion of the Christ, Bible, Heaven and Religion.

Why might it be important for young people to identify with an image of Jesus?

Because if younger people don’t have an understanding image of Jesus then they will not grow in a proper mind of whom he is and what he has done. People that learn who he is at a young age tend to grasp on the thought of who he is because then they will have a leader to follow.

Where in your life do you most associate with images of Jesus?

In my life I mostly associate with the images of Jesus at home, Church or at school because they are the places where I can most likely believe he might be watching over me, meaning that he can be there when I have a bad day because most of my days I am at school (sometimes even going through a hard time)and I need someone there to help me through it.

 Journal entry 4.

1) What form of medium (music, art or literature) allows you to best connect with Jesus and why?
Soft classical music with a violin solo, the ones played at war. It just a soothing piece of music that helps me concentrates on the things that are more important in life.

2) Why has Jesus been portrayed in so many different ways throughout history?
Because people tell differenet versions of the sotry, ranging from their religion to thier culture. People think of other people differently because they are forced to think something or maybe something else.
3) How is Jesus portrayed at Parramatta Marist?
Jesus has portrayed Marist because he is a really good exmaple to follow in life, because he did everything correctly and was killed for doing so.

4) What artistic time period do you think best represents your image of Jesus and why?
The best art period that represents Jesus is either renaissance or baroque because they both are about religion.

5) Identify one image of Jesus that appeals to you. What do you like about the representation?
This picture represents Jesus a friend; this is a picture of him welcoming everyone into his arms, and into his house. This just means that Jesus is very friendly and someone that everyone could appreciate.

 6) What factors currently shape your image of Jesus and why.

School, family, church, television and also friends have shaped my image of Jesus because they all say what they think, but I have my thoughts about him. People around say what they say about him, which then makes me change my thoughts.
